Summer ready feet!

Just pour a cup of white vinegar into a small basin with about 1-2 gallons of warm water and dunk your tootsies in for a 15-minute soak. The natural remedy works wonders for athlete's foot, toenail fungus, smelly feet and dry skin, say experts. And, if you have achy feet, consider mixing in a bit of Epsom salts

Taking care of your feet is really important, especially in the summer when you plan on wearing sandals or heels. Or when you go to the pool, you do want your toenails to have a pretty color. Today I will share some tips to quickly make your feet summer ready!

Stop foot odor - Soak feet nightly in 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water to eliminate odoriferous bacteria. Or take a daily foot bath in strong black tea (let it cool first) for 30 minutes. Tea's tannins kill bacteria and close the pores in your feet, keeping feet dry longer; bacteria tend to thrive in moist environments.

1. Soak your feet

Take a bucket or your bath and fill it with warm water. If you like you can add a bit of soap to it. Let your feet soak in this bath for a while. This will help soften the death skin and calluses underneath your feet.

2. Scrub them!

Next you can start with scrubbing your feet. You can use a regular body scrub for this. Just scrub them and make sure the death skincells are gone.

3. Smooth calluses using a file

Now it’s time to get rid of the calluses. Take a file and go over the parts of your feet which have the most calluses on them. Don’t remove it completely, if you do you’ll be filing for ages, and it’s not there for no reason.

4. Take care of your cuticles

To take care of your cutlcles you can use some body oil or olive oil. Just gently massage that into your cuticles. Then if you like, and if they are too long for your liking, you can push them back a bit. Don’t push it back too far by the way!

5. Polish those nails

Now your nails are ready to be polished. Make sure there is no residue of the oils on your nails because then the nail polish doesn’t stay on or apply as well.

6. Moisturize

Now it’s time to moisturize your feet. You can do this before polishing them, but I like doing it afterwards because I don’t want any oily residue on my toenails when I’m polishing them. If I remove the left over oils from my toenails with nail polish remover the sides of my toes (the parts that are attached to the sides of your toenails) will get dried out too. If you put on the footcream afterwards, everything get moisturized. Just make sure your nail polish has dried before moisturizing them. You don’t want to ruin your nail polish!
