A few weeks ago I got a new shampoo, the Herbal Essences Bee Strong shampoo. It’s one of the newer shampoo’s by Herbal Essences. It’s a very moisturizing shampoo that will give you strong and shiny hair. Because my hair gets greasy quickly, I wasn’t sure whether I was going to like it or not, but I decided to give it a shot. If you want to find out if it works or not, then keep on reading!
Let’s start off with the packaging. I think that theHerbal Essences packagings look really good. I like the shape of it, and that the bottle is transparent so you can see how much is left. Another cool thing about this packaging is how it opens up. You have to push one side of the lid down, and the other part comes up. I like this system. It works well and I think it’s just really cool.
The color of the product is yellow, which fits the “bee strong” theme. Also the text on the back of the bottle is fun. It’s not a basic text which says “put it in your hair, massage it, rinse it out”, but it has a little text which says “you know the exercise: lift, squeeze. Repeat the exercise. Girl you deliver a fine piece of work”. I like how it sounds like it’s a personal trainer motivating you to wash your hair.
I’m not much of an expert when it comes to ingredients, but I know a few essential things. First off all, this shampoo contains quite a lot of SLS, which makes the shampoo very foamy. I like foamy shampoo’s but it’s actually a bad thing since SLS is really drying for your hair. There’s also quite some perfume and silicones in it.
Alltogether, the list of ingredients doesn’t look too good. If your someone who is very focussed on what ingredients there are in your shampoo, this is not the one you’re looking for.
I still really like the shampoo. It surprised me that my hair wasn’t super greasy after using it. It was actually super, extremely, amazingly soft and shiny. Normally when my hair gets shiny it doesn’t look shiny in a good way, but with this shampoo I can achieve that glamorous shine that you do want to have.
The shampoo is quite moisturizing, so I can’t use it on a daily basis. I like using this shampoo every two days. This way my hair does get enough moisture, but not too much.
I’m happily surprised by this shampoo. I didn’t expect to like it, but it turns out that this shampoo is pretty amazing. If you have dry hair, or want some shine, this shampoo is perfect. If you have hair that gets greasy quickly, you might like it, but don’t use it too often!
This shampoo costs €2,99 and is available at basically any store that sells hair care products.
