Products I regret buying

Today I have a little less happy and positive article for you guys. It’s about product I regret buying. Products that just didn’t work for me. I thought it would be a good idea to share them with you, so I can help you prevent making the same mistake as I made when I bought these things.

 

The very first thing is this New CID Cosmetics palette. It’s called “Natural Wardrobe”. When I saw this on the internet I was really, really excited about it. Like extremely excited. I thought this palette was heaven on earth and prettier than my Naked palettes. So of course I decided to order it. When I received it I was still really excited. But after taking a good look at it I noticed something. It’s almost an exact copy of the Naked 1 palette. I took my Naked 1 palette and compared them. The only difference was the quality of the eyeshadows. Both are great, but different. I like the Urban Decay shadows better because they are softer and in my opinion slightly more pigmented. But the New CID Cosmetics shadows are less powdery. I don’t regret buying it because it’s horrible, but because first off all I already own the exact same colors. Second of all, it was around €30,-. That’s a little bit too much for a palette you basically already own.

The second product is this Dior lipstick. I bought it in a store in the airport when I went to Stockholm with school. I had some money left, quite a lot because I bought nothing during the entire trip. I saw these Dior lipsticks and I really wanted one. I saw this very pretty color, but I couldn’t find it. I had only one minute left until we had to go the the plane so I just grabbed a random one and bought it. It’s not a too bad color if you apply it very softly, and it’s not a horrible texture. In fact I really like the texture. I just don’t like the color too much.

 

The next product was a quite big dissapointmet too. I saw them everywhere on the internet and I really wanted to try one. In a Douglas in Germany I found this one and I decided to buy it. It wasn’t as inexpensive as it is in the US, it was about 8 euro’s. It’s one of their cream blushes I believe in the color natural. The problem is that I just never use it. Not because of the color, but because I found out that I really dislike cream blushes. I don’t like the way it works and looks. I just don’t.

The Maybelline Dream Mat powder is another product I regret buying. I bought this when I was a few years younger and I didn’t have a job yet. I didn’t have too much to spend back then. When there was some kind of sale in a drugstore I decided I wanted this powder. By the way, for my American readers, In the Netherlands Maybelline is pretty expensive. To give you an idea, the mascara’s are around €15,- and this powder around €10,-. I never use it because it’s in a completely different shade than my skintone. I don’t know why I thought this was the right color for me, it’s not even close.

This next product is the primer by Catrice. They were from the previous update, so it’s kind of new. Before it came out people were pretty excited about this product. The tube looks good, and it sounded very promising. I went to the Kruidvat a million times because I really wanted it, but they never had it. When I found it they only had this one left. This one is the Anti-Red version, while I wanted the Matt one. Even though I wanted the other one I decided to buy this. It’s honestly the most horrible primer I’ve ever used. My skin was green afterwards and there were quite big chunks of glitter in it. Like why?!

Another product I wish I’d never bought is this Garnier BB cream. It’s in the lightest shade but it’s quite dark. The substance is so thin that when you open it up everything comes out, even when you hold it upside down. It should be mattifying, but it’s the opposite. I don’t think that there is a thing I like about this product. It’s not even a real BB cream.

The last two products are the Revlon Gentle Toner and the L’Oreal studio express refresh dry shampoo. I bought this Revlon product because I just wanted to try it. It smells really good and I think it does what it’s supposed to do. What I don’t like about it is that I get pimpels from it. At least, I’m not a 100% sure, but I’m 99% sure. The L’Oreal dry shampoo doesn’t come as a surprise if you read my review on it. It makes my hair greasier than it is before I use it. It’s the most horrible product I’ve ever tried!
