Yves Rocher Mascara & Eye Pencil

Today I have a review about the Yves Rocher Sexy Pump Ultra-Volume Mascara and their Waterproof eye pencil. I’ve got both of them for free when I ordered something from their webshop. I’ve been wanting to try them for quite a while now, and I did. If you’re interested in reading more about these two products, keep on reading!

The first product for today is the Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp mascara. It’s one of their newest mascara. It’s supposed to give you a lot of volume. This mascara is in black, but it also comes in blue and brown. I like that they do that, not all brands have variety in the color of their mascara’s.

The packaging is really basic. It’s a very deep purple with pink letters on it. On top it has the Yves Rocher logo printed in it as usual. It’s not too great, but it’s not boring. It’s decent.

The brush is quite different than usual. It’s really, really big. The bottom and the top part of the brush are thicker than the middle. This way it should give you a lot more volume. I don’t know a lot about the science behind mascara brushes, but I believe it works. Most volumizing mascara’s have big brushes like that.

The only downside is that, because the brush is so big, you might mess up more easily. It’s not too much of a big deal, you can get rid of it, but it’s not nice.

I’m sorry but I’m horrible at taking pictures of my eyes. I tried my best. This is the result. The mascara is indeed volumizing, but it’s not ultra-volumizing. I expected a little more from this mascara. The mascara feels really soft. That might sound weird, and I’m not sure how to explain it, but it’s not my favorite kind of mascara. I think that if the brush was slightly different, it would be a lot better.

Even though it’s not what I expected it’s still a good mascara. It’s quite basic. The mascara costs €17,90, which I think is way too much for such a basic mascara. I’m a real big fan of Yves Rocher, but this product disappoints me.

Next up is the Waterproof Eye pencil. This is quite similar to the Essence long lasting eye pencils which I love a lot. The only difference is that this is (supposed to be) waterproof. The packaging is really simple. It has a lot going on on it, a lot of words, but not in a bad way. It’s looks quite good to me.

This pencil is in the shade noir (black). It’s a very pretty intense black color. I like that you don’t have to sharpen this pencil. You only have to twist it up and you’re ready to go. That’s in my opinion the best thing about these kinds of eye pencils.

The pencil is quite creamy, it doesn’t hurt when you apply it on your waterline. That might sound obvious, but lots of pencils do actually hurt. It has great color pay off. The waterproof part is not that true. After an hour or two this pencil is gone. If it can’t even survive my eye, how could it possible survive water?

Because the pencil has a great shaped point, you can make both thick and thin lines with it. After using it a few times, the pencil will still be pointy enough to do that, without sharpening it. I love that!

This eye pencil is great. It’s a great basic black eye pencil. It does it’s job and it’s easy to apply. The pencil costs €9,90, but is on sale almost always.

I’m not too impressed by these products, but I do like them. These are great for people that are new to makeup or for when you just need some basics in your collection, but I do think they are actually quite overpriced for that.

I hope you enjoyed reading this review and let me know what you think of these products!

  1. Wat leuk, een review van deze mascara heb ik ook klaarstaan! Ik moest echt enorm wennen aan die grote borstel, totaal anders dan alle andere mascara’s die ik graag gebruik..
