Not too long ago I came across a very cool TAG created by Lotte from thebudgetblog.nl. The TAG is about budget proof makeup. Because I liked it so much I decided to answer the questions myself. If you’re interested, keep on reading!

Best budget dupe?

The best budget dupe would be the E.L.F. blush in the shade Glow. This is one of my favorite rose golden blush and it’s very similar to the Nars Orgasm blush. The only difference is that this one is super affordable and the Nars one isn’t!

What is your favorite budget brand?

My favorite budget brand is for sure P2. I found out about this brand when I went shopping in Germany and I’ve grown to love it more and more every single day. It’s super affordable, more affordable than the budget brands in the Netherlands and the quality is amazing. P2 always surprises me with their awesomeness.

Three favorite budget lipsticks?

I have lots of amazing budget lipsticks in my collection. My very favorite ones are the Essence Long lasting Lipstick in the shade Love Me. The P2 Sheer Glam Lipstick in the shade Lovely Trust and the Kiko Smart Lipstick in an unknown shade.

Three favorite budget nail polishes?

When it comes to budget nail polishes I have to say I’m picky. Most budget nail polish chip really quickly, so I prefer using slightly more expensive ones (not super high end, but brands like Sally Hansen, OPI, etc.). But, I do have a few favorite budget proof ones. The first one is by P2 and it’s in the shade Fresh Sister. I also love the L’Oreal Les Blancs nail polish in the shade Nouvelle Vague and the Kiko nail polish in the shade 303.

Favorite budget (web)shop?

Hmm that’s a difficult one. I really like asian webshops like Ebay, Buyincoins and BornPrettyStore. I also like to shop at Feelunique. Not everything they sell is budget proof, but they do have brands like Rimmel and Maybelline.

Budget disappointment?

That has to be the Essence eyeshadow in the shade Sandy Says Hello. When you look at it for the first time you might think it’s a gorgeous shade. The shimmer is gorgeous. But after using it once I realised it’s all a lie. The shimmery layer is just an overspray and underneath it is just a basic color. Too bad Essence.

Budget product with the best packaging?

That would be the Makeup Revolution I heart Chocolate palette. It looks like a half-melted chocolate bar. I also love the packaging from the Essence Like An Unforgettable Kiss Blush. It’s adorable!

Favorite budget palette?

That’s for sure the Makeup Revolution I heart Chocolate palette. I’ve been using this palette non stop the past two weeks and I can’t stop. The quality is insane. I also love love love the Sleek Storm palette. The colors are so intense!

Why are you a budget beauty fan?

The thing I love about budget makeup is that you don’t have to pay an excessive amount of money for something like makeup. It’s not as overpriced as some other brands while the quality can be similar.

From which budget brand do you own the most products?

Hmm. I think that would be P2 or E.L.F. Both brands are absolutely amazing and create amazing high quality makeup products. I really recommend both of them. I do have quite some products from Essence and Catrice as well, but I prefer P2 and E.L.F.

Prettiest budget blush?

The Alverde Shimmer Rouge I bought not too long ago. I have been wanting it for such a long time. I’m glad I finally got it. I mean look at it. It’s absolutely gorgeous!

Best budget mascara?

I honestly don’t have a favorite budget proof mascara which I use everyday because I prefer Maybelline and Maxfactor mascara’s. If I have to choose one it would be the P2 Lift Up Lash Waterproof mascara. It’s not bad, but it’s not amazing.

Which budget products are in your everyday makeup routine?

First of all the P2 Mattifying Perfection concealer. I use it on an almost daily basis.I also use the E.L.F. Eyelid Primer and the P2 Forever Intense Eye Shadow Cream on a daily basis. These products are just absolutely amazing!

Most used budget product?

For sure the P2 Forever Intense Eye Shadow Cream. This is already my second jar and I’m still not done loving the crap out of it. It’s the best product I have ever used. I love it!

Ultimate budget recommendation?

I guess my ultimate budget recommendation would be anything from P2 or the E.L.F. Eyelid Primers. I have already gone through three of them and I keep repurchasing them. The quality is great and they are only one Euro each!
