NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil

One of NYX’s most hyped product is definitely their Jumbo Eye Pencil. I’ve always wanted to try one, and because I won one I got the chance to do so. I’m so grateful for that! After testing it for a while, it’s finally time for the review. If you’re interested, keep on reading!

The NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil comes in lots and lots of different colors. Milk has to be one of their most hyped one, but that is not the one I’m reviewing today. I have it in the shade Pure Gold, which is (as you could probably already guess) a beautiful gold color.

The NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil is a big white pencil with a clear lid through which you can see the color. I like the way it looks. It’s a signature NYX packaging, if you get what I mean. I love how simple it is, but not boring. It’s cute!

 

You might be thinking “why is it so big and what is it’s purpose?”. Well, as far as I know the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils main purpose is creating a base underneath your eyeshadow. It’s like a cream eyeshadow in pencil form. That is why the pencil is so cream and why it comes in such a big variety of colors. It’s not like a normal eye pencil which you put on your water line. You might be able to, but I don’t think that is what it’s meant to be used for.

I’ve used this pencil a few times instead of my favorite cream eyeshadow and I have to say it looks good, but it’s not as pretty as when you use a cream eyeshadow. The pencil is shiny, but it doesn’t intensify my eyeshadows like a cream shadow does. It’s not as sticky

If you dislike cream eyeshadows, this pencil might be something for you. Because it’s not as sticky and not as creamy, it won’t smudge. It will stay on your eye during the entire day, and it will slightly intensify the shadows you put on top of it.

Besides using it underneath other products, you can obviously use it on it’s own as well. If you want a quick but long lasting look, you could use this pencil as a lid color and use other shadows or other pencils in your crease and on your brow bone.

When it comes to pigmentation NYX has done a great job. The pencil is creamy, but not too creamy and has great color pay off. As you can tell Pure Gold is definitely a warmer gold. If that’s not your cup of tea don’t worry. There are lots and lots of different options out there for you!

Over all I’m glad I got the chance to try this NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil. I actually really enjoy using it. It’s definitely worth the hype!
