Essence All About Chocolate Palette

A while ago I purchased the Essence All About Chocolates palette. It isn’t new to their collection, but it is really pretty. Even though it’s not a recent purchase, I do want to review it for you guys. If you’re interested, keep on reading!

The Essence All About Chocolate palette comes in a clear plastic packaging. I like that it’s clear because you can immediately see what colors you’re dealing with and which palette you’re looking at. Besides that I also really like that they used different fonts to write the name of the palette. It gives it a somewhat “funner” look, if you get what I mean.

The palette consists out of six neutral eyeshadows. Four of them are pretty dark and two are pretty light. All colors contain a form of glitter. Even though I would have liked a matte medium brown or a matte highlighter color, I do like the colors that are in this palette.

I think that Essence did a good job putting four darker shades and only two lighter shades in the palette. This way you can decide how dark and how smokey you want to go. For a small palette like this one, two lighter shades are enough. I would probably not use the white shade as an eyelid color myself, but you could perfectly do that, which gives you two eyelid color options.

Like I said I would have liked it if there was at least one matte shadow in here. Because there is not I feel like I at least need one eyeshadow outside of this palette to finish off my look. That because I prefer using a matte highlighter when all the other shadows are shimmery.

When it comes to the pigmentation Essence did a great job. Most colors are decently pigmented. The lighter shades are a little less pigmented, but do show up when you use a cream shadow underneath your eyeshadows. I feel like this palette is very diverse. I can create a very wearable day time look with it, as well as a darker evening look. I like that!

Over all I could say I’m quite a big fan of this eyeshadow palette. I feel like the eyeshadows are pretty pigmented and that there are enough eyeshadows in there to create different kinds of looks. I really recommend it if you’re looking for a budget friendly everyday eyeshadow palette!
