Ziaja Depilatory Cream

A little while ago I won a package filled with Ziaja products. Ziaja is a somewhat new brand (at least it is to me) that sells very simple but good skincare and bodycare products. I’ve always wanted to try some of their products, so I was more than happy to receive the package. The first thing from the package that I’m going to be reviewing is the Depilatory Cream. The depilatory cream comes in a long slim white tube with blue letters. The one I have is for sensitive skin, but they also have a version for normal skin. When I first saw it I didn’t really know what it was, but soon I found out that this is one of those hair removal creams. I honestly hate shaving my legs, so if this works, that would be a dream come true.

When it comes to the packaging I am pretty positive. I really like the simple and clean look. It looks professional, but not boring. The font makes it even prettier in my opinion. The tube contains 100 ml. I don’t really know if this is normal for a depilatory cream, or whether or not it will last you that long but I think it’s fine.

Inside the little box that contains the cream is also a little scraper. I don’t really know how I should call it, so I just call it a scraper. This is a little tool which you have to use to remove the cream. You have to scrape it along your legs (or any other part you put the cream on) in the opposite direction, so from your foot to your knee. This way the cream and the hairs will come off. I have to say it looks pretty disgusting but that’s just the way it is.

The cream itself smells a little odd. I couldn’t tell whether I liked it or not. On one hand it smells like hair dye, which I usually like, but on the other hand it smells like it’s expired. It’s a little weird, but it’s not a big problem.

But obviously, the most important thing: does it actually remove the hairs? Well yes and no. It does say you have to use a thick layer, which I didn’t, but most hairs came off, not all. Some areas are still densely populated hair wise, others are bold. Maybe that’s because I didn’t use enough product, I’m not sure.

I do think that even though I don’t have sensitive skin, getting this version is a good idea. I feel like creams like this can be slightly drying, while this one wasn’t drying at all. It leaves your skin feeling silky and clean.

Over all I have kind of mixed feeling about the product, but that again might be my own fault. I do think I will use it again because it’s super easy and quick and it doesn’t take as much effort as shaving with a razor does. Besides that the hairs will stay away much longer.
