I think it’s funny how only about a year ago I didn’t really care too much about nail polish. Sure I loved the look of polished nails, but I didn’t mind walking around with chipped nail polish either. Nowadays I polish my nails about 2 to 3 times a week and every chip needs to be either fixed or taken away. Therefore I also love trying out new nail polishes from all kinds of brands. Today I’m going to be reviewing three nail polishes by Yves Rocher. If you’re interested, keep on reading!
The first color I got is a very pretty pale peachy pink. It’s a bit of a salmon color. It has a little bit of shimmer in it, but not in a too obvious way. The polish itself is pretty tiny, it contains only 3 mL of product. I honestly don’t mind that it’s this small, because I never really finish a nail polish, so this is more than enough.
The fact that the polish is this tiny doesn’t make it hard to apply. The brush is just normal and even though the part where you’re supposed to hold it is little, it’s not hard to just do your thing with it.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this color. I hoped it would be very opaque and pretty, but it turned out to be a little different. It’s not that the quality is bad or that the color is not opaque enough for me. The color is just very natural and close to my skin tone. It’s a very nude nail polish. Normally I don’t mind nude nail polishes, but I do want it to be clear that I’m wearing nail polish, so this is a little too nude for me personally.
Despite that, I do think it’s a nice nail polish. The color was intense enough after two coats and it dries in a normal amount of time.
The second color is actually a very basic color. I feel like this is one of the most basic pink shades out there, but it doesn’t make it any less beautiful. It’s a perfect day to day color that looks good on anyone and with everything. It’s very girly and bright, but it could be worn during both the winter time as well as the summer time. I really like that about it!
This color is a lot more out there than the previous one obviously. I really like how intense the color is and the pretty glossy finish. You do definitely need two coats of this polish in order to get it full coverage, but that’s not something bad. Most polishes are like that.
There is actually nothing really special about this polish. I do recommend it, because it’s just a very pretty color and the quality is nice, but it’s just not outstanding. It’s not a one of a kind color or polish in any way, but it’s a nice staple for in your collection!
The last color of the three is very different from the two other ones I showed you. It’s a very dark green color with a hint of blue in it. I would say it’s a deep turquoise color. I really like turquoise, which is why I bought this polish, but I wasn’t too sure about the darkness.
I personally prefer light or bright polishes. Dark polishes just don’t do it for me, so it was a bit risky to get this one, but it’s worth the try. Even though I think it’s a pretty color, it’s not a color I would wear too often considering I have many other nail polish in my collection I do adore.
Quality wise this nail polish is absolutely perfect. It’s opaque, it has a pretty glossy finish, it dries rather quickly and it stays on the nails for a decent amount of time. I wouldn’t say the staying power is outstanding, but it’s decent. All three polishes last about 3 to 4 days on my nails.
Over all I’m pretty positive about these polishes. I’m not blown away in any way by them, but they are great considering they only cost me about €1,65 each. I do recommend getting these if you want some nice basic staple colors in your collection. If you already have a big range of colors and you prefer more special polishes I would suggest skipping them!
The Yves Rocher Nail Polishes are available at their webshop and in their stores for €1,65 each.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and let me know which color is your favorite!
