Shopping is something girls can do best. It’s in our nature and we love it. Of course there are exceptions, but I’m no exception at all. I absolutely love shopping. Today I decided it might be fun to let you guys know which stores and places I love most shopping wise and why. If you’re interested in finding out, keep on reading!
Germany.
Germany is my favorite country on earth. Shopping there is like heaven for me. They have my favorite stores on earth and everything is just a lot cheaper there than it is here. Besides that they also have amazing brands like Balea and P2.
DM Drogerie.
Source.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you might know that I really enjoy shopping at DM Drogerie in Germany. I go there about twice a year, mostly with my mother, to just shop. It’s just the best store on earth. They sell my favorite budget brand on earth: P2, as well as Alverde, Manhatten, Essence, Catrice, Maybelline, etc. But they also have Balea, which is my favorite body and skincare brand in the entire world.
Some products they have are also available in the Netherlands, but are just two to three times cheaper there, so it’s always worth it. If you get the chance to visit DM, I highly recommend doing so. You won’t regret it!
Kiko Cosmetics.
Another store I really like is Kiko Cosmetics. Recently they opened their first store in the Netherlands (or that is still going to happen soon, I’m not completely sure), but that store is not close to where I live. Kiko is an amazing high quality makeup brand. They have very affordable makeup, as well as some slightly more expensive products. The quality is always amazing and they have a very big collection. I especially love their limited edition collections! Those are definitely worth the try!
Kaufland.
Lastly for Germany: Kaufland. I’ve only been here once but I can’t love it more. It’s basically a big supermarket where they sell food, underwear, clothes, electronics. Basically everything. The reason why I love Kaufland so much is because they sell my favorite chocolate on earth which they don’t sell any more in the Netherlands and they have my very favorite candy. Kaufland is definitely worth your time. If you find yourself close to one just go inside. The prices are lower than in the Netherlands, they have a wide variety of products and they also have makeup!
United Kingdom.
Another country I love shopping wise is the United Kingdom. I’ve been there quite a few times with school because I was in Bilingual Education and I’ve loved it every single time! I just love the UK as a whole, but shopping wise it’s even more amazing.
Boots.
My first favorite store in the UK is Boots. I found out about Boots during my first school trip ever to York. My friend and I both loved makeup a lot so we decided to go in there and we just fell in love. We had never heard of Boots before, but it was like makeup heaven. They sell both expensive as well as affordable makeup brands and they just have a lot to choose from. As a makeup lover, Boots is heaven!
Superdrug.
I found out about Superdrug only about a year or two ago. I found out about it through reading beauty blogs and I’m so thankful I did. I can’t decide whether I prefer Boots or Superdrug because they both have their charm. The main thing I love about Superdrug is that they have more exclusive brands like Makeup Revolution, Makeup Academy and Sleek.
Tesco.
Tesco is another super huge supermarket. It’s kind of similar to the German Kaufland. I like Tesco a bit better because it’s a bit tidier in there. The main reason I love Tesco so much is because they have double stuffed Oreo’s, makeup and they also retail Treacle Moon!
Poundland.
Poundland is only a recent discovery of mine. Last year when I went to Canterbury and Brighton with school, my boyfriend and I came across this store called Poundland. We decided to give it a go and just go in there. We didn’t regret that for one minute. We actually went there multiple times during our trip. In Poundland everything costs one Pound. That might sound obvious, but in the Netherlands we have 1 Euro stores where everything is a lot more expensive than 1 Euro. Another thing that is amazing about Poundland is that they have food, beauty products, stuff for your pets, movies, etc. It’s basically amazing.
Wilko.
The last store I want to mention is Wilko. I don’t really know whether it’s a supermarket or like a DIY store or whatever, but they do sell the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. When I went to Brighton I really wanted to get hold of that concealer and they were out of stock everywhere. When I came across the Wilko store I decided to go in and found out they did have the concealer. So, if you ever find yourself looking for the Collection concealer and it’s out of stock everywhere, you might find it here!
That was it for today! I know I didn’t mention my favorite places in the Netherlands, but this post would be way too long if I did do that. If you do want me to write another post on my favorite places to shop in the Netherlands, let me know!
I hope you liked today’s article, and let me know which places are your favorite shopping wise!

Mijn halve familie woont in Duitsland, dus we gaan daar een paar keer per jaar naar toe. Volgens mij gaan wij alleen naar de verkeerde winkels, want bij DM ben ik nog nooit geweest, haha.
Kiko zit in Amstelveen indd! Hier 7 minuutjes vandaag 🙂
