MUA Sweet Sheen Lipbalm

Quite a while ago already I received a newsletter from MUA in my mailbox which included their new products, including the Sweet Sheen Lipbalm. As a tinted lipbalm lover I was all about it and I had to get it, so I put it on my wishlist for London, since I didn’t expect the drugstore to have it that quickly. I actually didn’t expect them to have it at all. But when I went to the drugstore randomly I actually came across it and I couldn’t resist. I had to buy it and review it for you guys, so that is what I’m going to be doing today. If you’re interested in finding out how I like the MUA Sweet Sheen Lipbalm, definitely keep on reading!

The MUA Sweet Sheen lipbalms comes in six different shades. The color of the packaging depends on the color of the balm. I chose a very pretty coral shade called Coral Reef. Coral is one of my favorite colors ever so it was a pretty easy choice for me. The packaging is therefore also really pretty. The bottom part is coral and has silver letters on it, and the rest of the packaging is silver as well. The lid is clear, which I do like. I thing I like about the packaging is that the bottom part is the same color as the product, this way it’s extremely easy to find the color you need if you have more colors from this range or if you’re just looking for a particular color.

The Sweet Sheen balms are tinted lipbalms that are supposed to be moisturising while adding a subtle color to the lips. I’m a really big fan of products like this because it’s just super practical and you can wear bright colors without them looking super extreme.

When it comes to moisturising I’m really, really positive. I really love the way this balm feels on my lips. It’s a super smooth and soft balm and it’s not too thick. It doesn’t feel heavy or annoying and it’s not sticky at all. I used to hate the feeling of lip products (now I’m kind of okay with it) but I do think that even back then I wouldn’t have minded wearing this balm, just because of its softness and the fact that it’s such a lightweight product. Besides the fact that the balm is really soft it also works. My lips are definitely in a better condition after wearing this product than before. I’m really excited about that because that’s not the case with all tinted lipbalms.

When it comes to the pigmentation of the product I’m definitely positive. It promises you a subtle color and that’s exactly what it does. It’s not too much, it just gives you that extra bit of color, which in my case I need. This product makes the difference between dead looking lips and alive looking lips. Besides that I think that the finish is also really pretty. The sheen makes your lips look healthier and taken care of, which is definitely a good thing.

The staying power of the product is actually impressive too. Normally products like this one don’t last that long on the lips, but this one actually does. The color and the amount does decrease throughout the time you’re wearing it, but even after a few hours you can still tell that your lips are slightly more tinted than they normally are and that there is still a bit of the balm left.

Well I think it’s pretty obvious that I really like this lipbalm. I expected it to be amazing, but it was more than that for me. I really love the texture, the amount of color it adds to the lips and the way it moisturises my lips. Besides that I’m also really impressed by the staying power. I’m really happy that I decided to buy it when I saw it and I’m pretty sure I’ll buy one, or maybe the other five colors when I’m in London.

The MUA Sweet Sheen Lipbalm is available at Superdrug and the MUA webshop for £2,- and at Kruidvat for €3,49.

That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you’ve already tried this lipbalm!
