DIY: Glam It Up

Watching DIY room decor video’s is one of my favorite things to do. I love watching them and I love recreating those DIY’s. There has always been one DIY that I really wanted to do, but never really did because I didn’t have the supplies. I’m talking about spray painting things gold. Last week I finally decided to just buy a can of spray paint and a few supplies to spray paint and just try it. Today I’m going to show you how I did that and what it ended up looking like. It’s really simple. The only things you need for this DIY are a can of (gold) spray paint and objects of your choice. I decided to go for a pencil holder and a tape dispenser because I’ve seen people do that on Pinterest and I really liked the way that ended up looking like.

What you’re going to be doing is really simple as well. Make sure you cover an area in old newspaper so nothing will get messed up and put your object on top of the newspaper. Shake the spray paint for 2 minutes and start spraying the object gold. It’s as simple as that. Don’t be shy with the spray paint because if you do the paint won’t be covering enough.

When you’re finished spray painting the object leave it wherever it is to dry for at least two hours. After two hours it should be completely dry.

Et voilá. This is what my tape dispenser and pencil holder ended up looking like. I really like the way it turned out. It looks a lot more expensive and luxurious that it originally did and it definitely glams up my desk. It’s extremely easy to do and it doesn’t cost a lot of time or money, but it does make such a big difference. I’m really glad I finally ended up doing this DIY.

I really like how easy this DIY is and I love the way the objects turned out. I actually liked it so much that I also spray painted another object, and I’m constantly looking for other things to goldify!
