The Hot Shop Lip Crayon

A while ago lip crayons started to become extremely popular. Out of the blue every brand launched one and it led to a whole lip crayon craze. The Hot Shop, which is a brand sold by Born Pretty Store joined this craze and created one as well. Because I love lip crayons so much I decided I wanted to try it. The packaging in which this lip crayon comes is absolutely amazing. It’s the main reason why I fell for it. It’s a very pretty pastel green big pencil with a clear lid. The pencil is decorated with cute little dots and stars on the bottom and the words “lip crayon” and the name of the brand in the middle. I really like the over all look of it. The pencil is actually packaged in a super adorable box, which has the same color as the pencil. The fact that is comes in a box already excites me, but the fact that the box is equally as cute as the pencil makes me even more excited about it.

This particular lip crayon comes in lots of different colors. To be exact there are 12 different colors available. The color I have is number 5. Number 5 is a really pretty almost plummy pink color with a hint of shimmer in it. I do prefer non-shimmery lip products normally, but in this case I actually think it’s pretty.

The thing I like so much about lip crayons is that they are extremely easy to use. Application is super easy because the product is shaped like a pencil so you can color in your lips the same way you would color in a drawing. You have lots of control. Besides that it also a lot more precise than a normal lipstick. Another great feature about this lip crayon is that you don’t have to sharpen it. You can just twist at the bottom and the pencil will go up.

When it comes to the way this product feels on your lips I can be really short. The feeling is similar to the feeling of a lipbalm. It’s super smooth, light weight and it feel pretty moisturising as well. I really like that about it. It’s like a lipbalm and a lipstick in one.

The pigmentation is fine too. It’s not an extremely pigmented lip product, but I didn’t expected it to be like that. I actually like the fact that it’s this sheer. It makes the product a lot more wearable and natural. It also makes sure it doesn’t feel as heavy as very pigmented lipsticks would.

The staying power is decent too. I wouldn’t say it’s outstanding, it’s not impressive, it’s just fine. I would say it’s similar to the staying power of a tinted lipbalm, which is basically what this is. It’s just a tinted lipbalm in the shape of a lip crayon. It doesn’t survive a dinner, but it does stay on your lips for a good 1 to 2 hours.

Over all I think this lip crayon is a great product. The packaging is extremely cute, the color is really pretty and I like the way it feels on my lips. It’s not heavy and it’s not drying. It actually feels pretty moisturising. I’m quite a big fan of this product and I’m pretty sure I’ll get lots of wear out of it. It’s definitely worth the money!
