Recently I reviewed a lip crayon by The Hot Shop and today I’m going to review another one of their products. The past few months I’ve been getting into lipsticks and lip products more and more. While 6 months ago I only had a few lipsticks, I now have a pretty big collection full of different shades of lipstick. Because I’m that into lipstick nowadays, I enjoy testing new ones. Today I’m going to review one of the most recent additions to my collection. If you’re interested, keep on reading!
The lipstick comes in a pretty simple sleek packaging. It’s mainly white and it has some greyish details on it. Even though it’s basic and simple, I do really like it. It looks pretty professional to me. The lipstick itself is also pretty heavy for a lipstick. The heaviness makes it feel a lot more luxurious. The lipstick itself comes in a box, which I showed you guys on the first picture. The box is black and has an image of the lipstick printed on it. I like the fact that it comes in a box, it gives it that extra bit of specialness.
The lipstick comes in many different color. The one I have is number 13. It’s a very pretty plummy/berry red color with a pink undertone. I’m normally more of a nude lipstick kind of girl, but this color is definitely an exception to that. The finish is really special too. In the tube it seems like it’s matte, but on the lips it does still have that bit of shine to it that makes it a lot more comfortable to wear, but not super shiny.
On the Born Pretty Store site this lipstick is called the “Velvet Finish Moisturising Lipstick”. But even though it said that, I still didn’t really believe it. Because the lipstick looked this matte in the tube, I expected it to be pretty dry, since most matte lipsticks are dry. And if there is one thing about lipsticks I strongly dislike, it’s definitely dry textures.
But in fact, this lipstick is far from dry. It actually has that semi-matte velvety finish, which adds that creamy feeling to it. It’s actually quite moisturising too. I wouldn’t say it’s as moisturising as a lipbalm is, but it definitely adds some moisture, which is a very good thing!
When it comes to pigmentation, this lipstick is definitely a hit. The pigmentation really impressed me. It’s a very pretty rich color and I absolutely love the finish of it. It’s not super shiny, but it’s also not completely matte. It feels really nice and it doesn’t accentuate those dry patches on your lips, which is a big fat plus since I struggle with that quite often.
Over all I really like this lipstick. The texture is really nice, it’s really pigmented and it definitely adds some moisture to the lips. Besides that I’m also in love with the color, it’s absolutely gorgeous. I actually think that texture wise this is one of my favorite lipsticks out of my entire collection. I highly recommend it!
