Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick

While shopping in Germany I came across a lipstick range by Maybelline that I’ve never seen before, the Moisture Extreme range. I decided to swatch a few of the colors and I was very impressed. Therefore I decided to take one with me. Today it’s time to review it. If you’re interested in finding out whether it’s actually good or not, keep on reading!

The lipstick comes in a red tube with a kind of metallic sheen. It’s really simple and basic, a bit too simple and basic for me. It doesn’t say anything on the front, it’s just plain red. On the bottom of the packaging is a little sticker that tells you which color the lipstick is in, but that’s it. It doesn’t even say the name of the lipstick range, not even the name of the brand. Kind of weird isn’t it?

I bought the lipstick in the color Flamingo. It’s a very pretty natural pink color with a kind of metallic sheen to it. I normally don’t like metallic lipsticks, but in this case it’s actually pretty. It’s not super metallic, it’s not too obvious. I think that’s what makes the difference for me.

This lipstick range is called “Moisture Extreme”, so you would expect it to be pretty moisturising. I can tell you that it at least feels like it is. The lipstick feels pretty much like a lipbalm, not a super thick and creamy one, just a lightweight basic lipbalm and is very comfortable to wear. I already felt that when I swatched it in the store, which is the main reason why I decided to buy it.

The only down side to this lipstick is that it doesn’t stay in place that long. It’s not a really long lasting lipstick. Not even close to be honest. This will stay on your lips for approximately 1 hour, but not a minute longer. To me that’s not a really big deal, but if you prefer longer lasting lipsticks, you shouldn’t buy this one.

The pigmentation is perfect in my opinion. It’s not a really sheer lipstick, but it’s also not very rich. It’s just super light weight and it adds a really pretty bit of color to your lips. It’s not one of those bright lipsticks. I think that people that don’t wear makeup probably can’t even tell you’re wearing lipstick. I like that about it, this way I do get that extra bit of color and shine, but it’s not too heavy.

Over all I do think the Maybelline Moisture Extreme lipstick is a great lipstick. I’ve been wearing it a lot lately. I like it a lot because of it’s light weight formula and the fact that it moisturises my lips. The only reason not to buy it would be the staying power, but to me that’s not too big of a problem.

The Maybelline Moisture Extreme lipstick is available at drugstores like DM Drogerie for €4,75.

That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you’ve ever tried a lipstick from this range!

  1. That’s such a pretty colour, it looks gorgeous on you. I’ve never tried this range from Maybelline, we don’t have it in our drugstores here. But there is an equivalent Maybelline Watershine range.
