As I mentioned in a few other reviews before, I won a give away from Eline’s blog. One of the products I won was this super adorable Essence How To Make Your Face Wow palette. This palette contains everything you need for the perfect blush, bronzer and highlighter look. Today I’m going to be reviewing it. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not it’s worth the money, keep on reading!
The How To Make Your Face Wow palette comes in this adorable pink box. I absolutely love the way it looks. It kind of reminds me of those Benefit palettes actually. The box is made out of cardboard and is pretty strong. I absolutely love everything about it.
Something that made me like it even more is the fact that this palette comes with a mirror. Palettes like this are perfect for travelling, but they are even more perfect when they come with a mirror, so you can actually see what you’re applying. I do like the fact that the mirror is shaped like a speech bubble. It’s kind of playful and young. And even though I’m already 17 years old now I still kind of like it.
Behind the mirror you can find two little cards which you can pull out. These cards show you two ways you can apply the products. For me it’s pretty obvious how to apply it, but for those of you who are new to makeup or new to contouring, these cards can be pretty useful.
The palette contains 4 different powders. The one on the top left hand corner is a very pretty shimmery highlighter. I really love the color. It’s not a very cool but also not a super warm toned highlighter, so I think that because of that it could look good on lots of different skin tones. The one besides the highlighter is the bronzer. For super pale people like me this bronzer could be slightly too dark, but for those of you who are a little bit more tanned, or at least not as white as paper this color would be perfect. I like that it’s not super orangy, but just a normal brown shade. The only thing I dislike about it is the fact that it does contain glitter, and I prefer matte bronzers.
Underneath the highlighter you’ll find a very pretty blush color. It’s a gorgeous shimmery peachy color which I absolutely love. Again I think this blush color (and the pink one next to it too) would look amazing on basically every skin tone. It’s a very wearable and basic blush color, but that doesn’t make it less pretty. the last powder is this palette is another blush. I like that it comes with two blushes so you can alter between which one you feel like using. This second blush is bright pink. It looks kind of scary like this, but if you apply it lightly it could look super amazing.
Pigmentation wise this palette impressed me. I feel like all powder have decent pigmentation, and in my opinion the bright pink blush is even a bit too pigmented. I personally prefer less pigmented blushes because you can’t really go wrong with those, but if you use a stippling or a fan brush to apply this color you’ll be fine. The only think I dislike about the powders is that they are clearly pretty powdery. I do have to say that they aren’t impossible to work with, but it’s not ideal.
Over all I think the Essence How To Make Your Face Wow palette is quite a good one. I love the packaging a lot and I really like the colors that are in there. The pigmentation is nice and the colors could be used on basically everyone. The only thing I think Essence should work on is the powderiness of the palette, but despite that it’s a great product!
The Essence How To Make Your Face Wow Palette is available at the drugstore for €5,99.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you’ve tried this palette yet!
