Ever since I heard about the brand Makeup Revolution for the first time I’ve had my eye on their Flawless palette. For some reason it just really stood out to me. It contained the most amazing neutral colors as well as some gorgeous purples and greens. I just had to have it. The more reviews I read, the more I wanted it. After waiting a long, long time I finally got my hands on it and today I’m going to be reviewing it. If you’re interested in finding out whether it let me down or not, keep on reading!
Packaging wise the Makeup Revolution palettes in general are pretty basic. They’re all just black and have Makeup Revolution written on them and in most cases the name. I don’t mind that it’s this simple because simplicity can be beautiful, but I’m also not against gorgeous detailed packagings like the Too Faced palettes have. The Flawless palette contains 32 colors of eyeshadow and comes in a few different versions. The one I have is just the normal Flawless palette, but for those of you who, for example, prefer matte eyeshadows there’s a matte version as well.
The overall look of the palette kind of reminded me of the good old 88 palettes from back in the day. Those used to be so popular! The difference between those palettes and this one is obviously the quality, but also the pans are a little different. They are slightly bigger and are flat instead of domed.
I do have to say that the pans did look a lot bigger on pictures I saw online. In real life they are about the size of a 20 cent coin (in Euro’s). Not bad at all, but just something you might want to know.
The reason why I fell for this palette are the colors. Most palettes I own are pretty basic. They all have neutral colors in them. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with that, I still love my neutrals, but the fact that this palette has neutrals as well as some more colorful colors makes it just a bit more interesting. Besides the usual browns, golds and champagnes, this palette has a gorgeous green, a few blue’s and a few purples.
The thing I like about the more colorful shades is that they are still pretty neutral and wearable. I do like using some more colorful colors in my looks, but I do want it to look natural and this palette makes that possible. When you for example create a look using one of the gold shadows all over the lid, a medium brown as a blending shade, a darker brown in the crease and a little purple in the outer corner you still look pretty natural, but you do have that extra bit of color. I like that!
Pigmentation wise this palette is definitely one of the best from the budget proof section of my collection. The colors are all pretty buttery and glide on very smoothly. They blend pretty easily, but not too easy and they are perfectly buildable. If you’re not that into expensive makeup, I think this palette is one of the best ones to get.
The staying power of the eyeshadows actually impressed me. Because it’s such an affordable palette I just wasn’t sure what to expect. Well, I can tell you, if you have high expectations, you won’t be let down. These eyeshadows actually stayed all day in a pretty way. That’s pretty impressive for a budget proof palette. Well done Makeup Revolution!
Over all I am pretty impressed in a very, very positive way. Because lots of budget proof eyeshadows are not that great I didn’t want to get my hopes up, but honestly this palette is amazing. It’s definitely a palette I’d gravitate towards equally as much as I gravitate towards my high end palettes. I think this palette is perfect for those who love having lots of colors in one place, but also for those who are just starting off with makeup. I love it and I highly recommend it!
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you have tried any Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palette yet!
