A while ago L’Oreal launched a new foundation for the oily skin, the Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation. Because I struggle with oily skin and I love testing new foundations I was really excited about it and I really wanted to try it. And so I did. I went to the store and bought myself a tube. After testing it for over a month it’s time for me to review it. If you’re interested in finding out more about this foundation, keep on reading!
The foundation comes in a similar tube as the primer from this range does. It’s matte and clear for the most parts and it has black and red details on it. On the back it gives you some information about the texture, the coverage and how to apply it. Over all I think it looks pretty professional. I like that a lot!
The foundation comes in a few different shades. The lightest shade in the Netherlands is number 11, but in the UK there is also a lighter shade available. Because I’m super pale I decided to buy the lightest shade, number 10. This shade is nearly perfect for me. It might be a teeny tiny bit on the dark side, but it ain’t bad at all. I don’t think anyone can tell that it’s not exactly the same color as my skin.
Let’s start off with discussing the coverage. On the back of the tube L’Oreal claims that this foundation gives you high coverage. To be honest I think that that’s a little exaggerated. The foundation does cover up my imperfections pretty well and it does even out my skin tone, which is the most important thing for me, but I feel like it’s not high/full coverage. I’d call it medium to high. Not bad either, but it’s something you should know.
The thing I like about it is that even though the foundation is medium to high coverage, the texture isn’t thick. Most full coverage foundations are pretty thick and feel a little cakey, but this one isn’t like that at all. It’s pretty thin actually and it’s very easy to blend. I think that’s a really big plus.
When it comes to mattifying the skin I think this foundation does a decent job. It isn’t glowy at all and it doesn’t feel oily which is amazing, but it’s not completely matte either. On one hand I think it’s not that bad that it isn’t, but on the other hand they do claim that this foundation has a matte finish and it’s just not as matte as I expected. It does leave you with some sort of healthy glow, but if that’s not what you’re going for that doesn’t have to be a positive thing.
The lasting powder of the foundation really depends on the primer you use. When I use the primer from the same range it stays pretty much all day, but throughout the day it does fade a little. When I use the Nivea Men Aftershave Balm underneath instead it stays on perfectly all day. Without moving even a little bit.
But even though I’m not super impressed by the matte finish, I do really like using the foundation. I really like the texture and the coverage and I like that it stays on so well. Compared to other not matte foundations it is pretty mattifying and it does keep me matte longer, but the mattifying part is just not as amazing as I expected it to be.
The L’Oreal Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation is available at the drugstore for £7,99/€15,95
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know which foundation is your favorite!
Did I read correctly? You use an aftershavebbalm as a primer? Does it work? Why would that work? How did you get that idea? Very interesting. I love this foundation! It gives me exactly the coverage I need and it does not look cakey. Great post! 😉

Haha you did read that correctly. I got the idea from the youtuber Nikkie Tutorials. It works so well because there’s a lot of glycerine in it and apparently glycerine makes the makeup stay in place really well. I have literally never tried something as amazing as that.

Which one do you use? Can you use the sensitive skin one? Would that work?

Ik heb deze foundation ook. Door dat deze matt is benadrukt hij wel de lijntjes in mijn gezicht. Ik maak deze wel op maar ik koop hem niet meer opnieuw.
