Sleek is one of my all time favorites brands when it comes to eyeshadows and blushes. Their eyeshadows are so amazing and so affordable. It’s just amazing. One Sleek palette that has been on my wishlist for quite a while is the Au Naturel palette. When I went to London I finally bought it and today is the day I’m going to be reviewing it. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not the Au Naturel palette is just as amazing as the other Sleek palettes, keep on reading!
The Sleek eyeshadow palettes come in these really pretty boxes. Inside the box is the actual palette. I personally really like it when products are packaged in a box because for some reason I feel like that’s a bit more luxurious. The box it comes in shows you a few of the colors that are inside the palette and the name. The packaging of the palette itself is really basic. It’s like all other Sleek packagings, plain black with the Sleek logo printed on it in shiny black letters.
The Au Naturel palette looked pretty boring to me at first. The colors are pretty neutral and basic and most shadows are matte. I personally prefer shimmery shades, so at first it didn’t really look like it was the right fit for me, but because the shadows are so neutral it felt like it would be a great staple piece to have in my collection.
The first row consists out of 5 matte eyeshadows and 1 shimmery shadow. The shimmery shadow is my favorite shadow out of this entire palette and it’s the only one I really like as a lid color. The other five colors are pretty basic, but I do think they are necessary to have. I love that there is a matte highlighter, and the light matte brown shade (third color) is a color I’m sure I’ll wear a lot.
The second row consists out of the darker shades. Three of the shadows are shimmery and three are matte. My favorite colors from this row are by far the first color, the shimmery plummy brown shade, the second color, the greenish brown shade and the fifth color, the matte taupe color. The main reason why I like them is because I don’t have anything like them in my collection yet.
Pigmentation wise Sleek didn’t let me down at all. I got what I expected, 12 beautifully pigmented eyeshadows. I really don’t know how Sleek is capable of creating such pigmented shadows for such a small amount of money, but I love it. The first row seems a little bit off, but that’s just because the colors are pretty close to my skin tone and therefore they won’t show up very well on camera. To show you how amazing they are I created a look with this palette which I’ll show you in a second.
Besides amazing pigmentation the Sleek shadows are just amazing to work with. They blend very nicely and they are very intense throughout the entire day. They stay in place all day and they have never creased on me. When I use these shadows I never have to worry about my eyeshadows. It’s absolutely amazing!
This is the look I created using the palette. It has become my go to look when I use this palette and it’s the look I create when I just want something fool-proof and pretty. I really like the look of it and it doesn’t cost much effort to get it to look like this. To me this is the perfect everyday school/work look!
I think it’s pretty clear that I absolutely love the Sleek Au Naturel palette. It definitely didn’t let me down. It actually made me want to get even more Sleek eyeshadow palettes! Even though the colors in this palette are really basic, it’s still a very nice palette to have and I think it’s a palette I’ll be using a lot. It’s perfect for those of you who do like eyeshadow, but do want to keep it natural!
