Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation

For years and years I’ve been a huge fan of the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. I’ve used and loved the old version, the renewed version and the serum version. After using it for years I started experimenting with others brands and foundations and I kind of forgot about this one. When I saw it in stores a while ago I decided to buy it and see if I still like it now as much as I did back in the day. If you’re interested in finding out the answer to that, keep on reading!

The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation comes in a slim see-through bottle with a red lid. I really like the packaging. I like that they kept it the same throughout the years. On the front of the foundation it tells you a little bit about it. It says that it’s a gel foundation and that it’s supposed to stay in place for 16 hours. I really like the fact that it’s a gel foundation instead of an oil- or water based foundation because I really like the way gel foundations work and look on my skin.

My very favourite thing about the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundations in general is by far the scent. The foundation is called Healthy Mix, as you might be aware of at this point haha, so it’s not a surprise that it contains fruity ingredients. Because of that this foundation smells so super good. It’s amazing.

As I mentioned before, this foundation is supposed to stay in place for 16 hours. I have to be honest and tell you that every foundation will stay in place for that long in combination with the primer I’m currently using, but back in the day, when I didn’t use primer yet, this foundation did in fact stay in place for such a long time. It would stay on my skin for at least and entire school day, which is quite impressive.

It also says that this foundation is radiance-boosting and that it gives you an even and revived complexion. I think that’s a pretty good description of what this foundation does. It’s definitely a dewy foundation. And even though I have really oily skin and I usually go out of my way to fight that, I like it.

One of the biggest cons of this foundation is that it’s pretty yellow. If you have a very pink undertone non of the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundations will match you. I bought the lightest shade, which is number 51 and it’s not perfect for me, but it’s okay.

Even though I absolutely love this foundation and what it does for my skin, I don’t think it’s the best foundation for girls with oily skin. This foundation does not keep you matte, it’s dewy and it’s actually kind of moisturising. I personally don’t mind and I accept the glow because I do really like the way my skin looks when I’m wearing this foundation, but if you are looking for a mattifying foundation this is definitely not what you’re looking for.

Over all I really like this foundation. I love the packaging, I adore the scent and I really like the texture. I also love that it lasts such a long time on my skin and I really like the way my skin looks when I’m wearing this foundation. Even though I think it would be more appropriate for girls with normal to dry skin, I just adore it. I loved it back in the day, and I still love it now. It’s just one of the best foundations out there!
