Essence Sheer & Shine Lipstick

Essence Sheer & Shine Lipstick

Yesterday I reviewed something from the new Catrice collection and today it’s time for Essence. Those of you who frequently read my blog are probably aware of the fact that I absolutely love wearing sheer lipstick. I love everything about them. Therefore I don’t think it’s too surprising that I was very excited to see that Essence launched an entire range of sheer lipsticks. I decided to buy one and give it a try. Today it’s time for me to review it. If you’re interested in finding out more about it, keep on reading!

Essence Sheer & Shine Lipstick Packaging

The Essence Sheer & Shine lipsticks come in pretty good looking packagings. I’m normally not a huge fan of the Essence packagings, but I’m pretty excited about these. They look so professional and pretty luxurious to me. the main part of the packaging is silver and the colour of the lid represents the colour of the lipstick. Since I chose a very pretty berry coloured lipstick, the lid is also a bit of a (rasp)berry/ red colour.

The entire Sheer & Shine collection consists out of 13 lipsticks. There are nudes, bright pinks, reds, berries, basically every single colour you could possibly want is in this collection. I really like that about it. Even though I would normally go for a pretty nude colour, I decided to go for something a little more outside the box.

Essence Sheer & Shine Lipstick Color

The colour I bought is called “09 I Feel Pretty”, which is the most gorgeous berry coloured lipstick I have seen in a while. The main reason why I usually don’t go for colours like this one is because I don’t like wearing super duper bright lip colours, I prefer wearing settle shades, but since this is a sheer lipstick I felt like I would get a lot of use out of it. And that you guys, that’s one of the main reasons why I love sheer lipstick.

Besides being sheer, Essence claims that this lipstick gives a nice amount of shine as well. Even though most sheer lipsticks do both, I was still really excited to see how that would turn out.

As you can tell the shine part turned out to be true. This lipstick has a great amount of shine to it. It’s not like you have applied an entire tube of clear lipgloss on top of your lipstick, but it does look pretty. The amount of pigmentation is really nice too. Since it’s a sheer lipstick I don’t expect and want it to be super pigmented, but I do obviously want the colour to show up. That’s exactly what this is. This lipstick does add a generous amount of colour, but it’s not as in your face as a normal creamy lipstick would be.

Texture wise I really like this lipstick as well. In general most sheer lipsticks are pretty smooth, light weight and comfortable on the lips. This lipstick is exactly like that as well and I love it. It’s one of the most comfortable lipsticks to wear which makes it the perfect lipstick, even for those of you who don’t like the feeling of lipstick on their lips!

I think it’s pretty clear that I absolutely love this lipstick. The colour is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for autumn and winter, it feels really nice on the lips and I love the pigmentation and the amount of shine to it. It’s basically the perfect lipstick for me. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to try a colour that is a little bit outside their comfort zone, but doesn’t want to go all out. This is literally perfect for that!

The Essence Sheer & Shine Lipstick is available at the drugstore for €1,99.

That was it for today! I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you have already tried a lipstick from this range!
