As an eyeshadow junkie I love buying and trying new eyeshadow palettes, especially high end ones. Every once in a while I treat myself and buy one. The latest addition to my collection is the Smashbox Full Exposure Eyeshadow Palette. Ever since I saw it for the first time I’ve been pretty curious about it. After thinking about it for ages I finally bought it. Today I’ll be reviewing it. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette is worth the money or not, keep on reading!
The Smashbox Full Exposure Palette comes in a pretty thick black packaging. The packaging is made out of a pretty unique material. At least, the feeling of the material is unique, the material itself probably not. It has that kind of rubbery feel to it, just like the EOS lipbalms have. I really like that about it. On the front of the packaging you’ll find the name of the palette printed in big silver letters. The over all look of the packaging is pretty basic, but okay. To me it looks and feels really professional, and I really like that.
The first thing I noticed when I opened up the palette for the first time was that there was a brush in there with real hairs. Most brushes that come with palettes are pure crap, but this brush feels actually pretty nice. The hairs are really soft and the shape of both sides looks pretty good. I’m so impressed by that!
One of the first thing I noticed about the palette when I opened it up is the way the shadows are organized. The top row consists out of shimmery shadows only, and the second row consists out of matte shadows only. Even though it doesn’t actually matter whether they are organized like this or in any other way, I still really like that about this palette. Besides the fact that it looks organized, it also shows that there is a great balance between shimmery and matte shadows in this palette.
My first impression of this palette was “pretty, but not really me”. Even though this palette isn’t like the palettes I would usually go for, I still ordered it. The reason why is because even though the shadows are different, I still think they are really pretty. Besides that I felt like this palette would be a great one for branching out my collection.
When it comes to the pigmentation all I can say is “hell yes”. The pigmentation of each and every colour in this palette is just impressive. There is not a single shade in there that is even a little less amazing than the rest. Because I was so impressed I decided to show you guys pictures with and without flash, so you it’s extra clear how amazingly pigmented these shadows are. I mean, isn’t it amazing?
The texture of the shadows is really nice too. I especially like the matte ones. They are very buttery and super easy to work with. I love that they aren’t powdery at all. The shimmery shadows however do have a minor downside to them. Even though they are really gorgeous and have a great amount of pigmentation, I do get quite a bit of fall out when I use them. It’s not a big deal to me, but it is something you should know.
But all together I think the Smashbox Full Expose palette is definitely a win. I love the colours that are in there, even though they are quite different and I just love the fact that they are organized in a way that the mattes and the shimmery ones are separated. Besides that I think Smashbox did amazing on the brush which is something lot’s of brands still have to work on. Good job Smashbox! You did amazing.
The Smashbox Full Exposure Palette is available at Douglas for €49,90.

Very versatile colors. Love the proper brush in stead of those silly ones I always throw away, that is a great addition to a high end palette.

This review just makes me want to buy this palette! I picked it up to take a look in Boots a few weeks ago and I couldn’t justify buying it so I put it back down – very tempted. The shades remind me of Christmas! Xx

Wauw! Dit palette is echt prachtig. Wel een duurder exemplaar maar de pigmentatie ziet er ook wel echt verbluffend uit.
