Collection Lasting Gel Colour & Top & Base Coat

Collection Top & Base Coat and Nail Polish

Collection is one of the most popular brands when it comes to concealer. But surprisingly enough you don’t hear a lot about all of the other products from their collection. Because I was pretty curious to see whether their nail polish would be just as amazing as their concealer, I decided to give one a try. And because I needed a new top coat I decided to take that one with me as well. Today it’s time for me to review it. If you’re interested in finding out more about them, keep on reading!

Collection Top & Base Coat

Let’s start off with the most boring product of the two, the Collection 2 in 1 Top & Base coat. Lately I’ve seen quite a lot of these 2 in 1 base and topcoat products. I’m not sure whether or not I like it. Of course, it’s pretty convenient, but I’m not sure if it actually works. I mean topcoats have a whole different function than base coats, so how can one product be both?

Even though I was sceptical about it I gave the product a try. When it comes to being a topcoat, I’m definitely not impressed. It took forever for it to dry and because of this product I got all kinds of weird bubbles in my  nail polish. When it comes to being a base coat I’m okay with it. It’s not impressively good, but it does what a base coat has to do, so I can’t complain about that.

Over all I think the Collection 2 in 1 Top & Base Coat is okay. I’m not a huge fan of it as a topcoat, but as a base coat it’s pretty much okay. I wouldn’t go crazy for it, but I don’t hate it!

The Collection 2 in 1 Top & Base Coat is available at the drugstore for £2,99.

Collection Nail Polish Watermelon

Onto the nail polish. Gel like nail polishes have been super popular lately, so it didn’t surprise me to see that Collection has one too. I have to say that in general I really like the gel nail polish trend. The polishes stay much longer and I really like the finish, but not all polishes that claim to be like gel nail polishes are actually that different from normal nail polishes, which made me extra curious and excited to try this one.

There are quite a lot of colours available, but I ended up going for only one called ‘Watermelon’. Watermelon was the first colour that stood out to me and in my opinion the prettiest of them all. It’s a very pretty and unique pink colour. It kind of reminds me of a watermelon smoothie.

On the lid it says that this polish has an “easy wide brush” which should make the application a lot easier. Normally the brushes end up being way to big and unhandy to work with, but in this case I actually really like it. It was really easy to apply the polish with this brush and the whole application process went by a lot quicker than I’m used to.

The polish itself is pretty opaque, you only need two coats in order to get that perfect polished look on your nails. I also really like the finish. This polish definitely succeeded in giving me that gel like finish. I absolutely love the look of that! Another thing I love about this polish is the fact that it stays on your nails for at least 4 to 5 days. That’s pretty impressive!

I think it’s pretty clear that I really like this nail polish. It just really impressed me. Good job Collection!

The Collection Lasting Gel Colour is available at the drugstore for £3,19.

That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and let me know which nail polish brand is your favourite!

  1. Did you get these in The Netherlands or in England? They should bring Collection to The Netherlands, I need their concealer! Great review, now I need their nail polishes, too.
