Bourjois Effet 3D Lipgloss

Bourjois 3D Effect Lipgloss Tube

For the longest time I have been dying to buy the Bourjois Effet 3D Lipgloss. It has been on my wishlist for as long as I can remember, but because I’m not a big fan of lipgloss as a product I never bought it. But a few months ago when I purchased the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation, there was a 3 for 2 sale going on, which was the perfect opportunity for me to buy it. Today it’s time to finally review this beauty. If you’re interested, keep on reading!

Bourjois 3D Effect Lipgloss Applicator

The Bourjois Effet 3D Lipgloss comes in a clear tube with a silver lid. It’s pretty basic, but because of the shape it’s still pretty special. The applicator that comes with it is a little different than normal. Instead of the typical slanted sponge applicator, this comes with a hairy applicator. I’m still not sure which type I actually prefer, but I at least don’t hate it.

The colour I bought is called Rose Allégoric, which is the most perfect pink colour I can imagine. It’s rosy, it’s full of colour, but at the same time it’s natural looking and fresh. The colour really reminds me of colourful flowers and happy times. I love it!

You might have noticed it already, but on the bottom of the tube it says “Balm Action Moisture 8hrs”.  This has to do with the fact that lipgloss is, aside from pretty, also moisturising and balmy, which is something I totally agree with. Instead of being sticky and annoying, this gloss feels really, really nice on the lips. It’s balmy, glossy and I actually feel like it actually moisturises my lips. I love that about it!

Besides that, there is one more questionable element on the packaging. The 3D part. It sounds pretty interesting to me, but at the same time really random. I mean why would a lipstick be 3D? My lips are already in 3D. What they mean with that, according to the product description on the Boots site, is just a lot of volume and shine, that’s basically it.

As you can tell, the shine part is definitely true. This lipgloss is super, super glossy and shiny and I love that about it! Besides that I do feel like it makes my lips look a little more plumped than they actually are, so the volume part might actually be true as well. When it comes to pigmentation I would say it’s decent. I don’t expect a lipgloss to be crazy pigmented, but a tad bit more colour wouldn’t have been bad.

Over all I’m really glad I finally got this lipgloss. I love the fact that it’s so balmy and moisturising and I really like the way it looks on my lips. I also love the colour a lot, but I wish that colour would have been a little bit more visible on the lips. Aside from that I think the Bourjois Effet 3D Lipgloss is absolutely amazing!

The Bourjois Effet 3D Lipgloss is available at the drugstore for £7,99/€10,95.

That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you still use lipgloss nowadays!

  1. Look very cute. I like lip gloss that is shiny but I too wish they had more pigment. I like to use lip stain then throw some gloss on top but this seems perfect for a daytime casual look! Cute post!
