Yves Rocher Luminelle Lipstick

Yves Rocher Lipstick

A while ago I decided it was time again to order something from Yves Rocher. It had been quite a while since I last did that and there were some great deals I just couldn’t miss out on. One of the products I purchased is this really pretty Luminelle Lipstick. It’s their most basic lipstick, but for some reason I felt most attracted to it. Today I’m going to review it. If you’re interested, keep on reading!

YR Lipstick

The Yves Rocher Luminelle Lipstick comes in a really basic, kind of plastic looking packaging. The bottom part is purple and the lid is white with purple plants on it. Even though the design ain’t bad, I still feel like it does look a little cheap. I think that’s, for the most part, caused by the material. It looks really plasticy and it’s very lightweight. But, despite that, I don’t think it’s a super ugly packaging.

The Luminelle Lipstick range consists out of quite a big variety of colours. Even though it’s autumn, and I like wearing berry shades now, I still gravitated towards a more neutral colour. I ended up purchasing a colour called “Rose Sorbet”. A very pretty neutral pink colour.

But, before going into more detail about the colour, I’m first going to talk to you guys about what this lipstick claims to be and what it actually is. According to the Yves Rocher website the Luminelle lipstick is ultra comfortable and doesn’t transfer onto other people or objects. It also says that some of the colours are transparent and natural and that others are intense and colourful. Lastly they also claim that this lipstick is comfortable to wear and that it doesn’t move.

Something that stood out to me in a not necessarily positive way is that the intensity/pigmentation of the lipstick depends on the colour you choose. On one hand that’s no big deal, but, because they don’t tell you which ones are pigmented and which aren’t, you don’t know until you have bought it, and if you were looking for a pigmented lipstick and you got a transparent one, that can be quite a disappointed.

However, I do like the fact that this lipstick stays in place so well. The transferring part isn’t completely true. If doesn’t transfer as much as some other lipsticks would, but it’s not like a liquid lipstick. But, even though it does transfer a little bit, the staying power of this lipstick is absolutely amazing. This because the lipstick stains your lips a little bit. After the biggest part, aka the creamy part, is gone, your lips will still have a bit of the colour left.

When it comes to the comfortability and the texture of the lipstick I’m even more positive. This lipstick isn’t crazy creamy, but it is creamy enough to be comfortable to wear. It doesn’t feel heavy on the lips, it doesn’t feel very dry, but it’s also not extremely buttery. I really like that about that, since this way you can have the comfortability of a creamy lipstick but the staying power of a matte lipstick.

And now, back to the colour. As I mentioned before, Rose Sorbet is a very pretty neutral pink colour. Even though it’s neutral, it’s still pretty special. It has a really pretty rosy tint to it that makes it a little more exciting than your usual pink lipsticks. When you look at it in the tube you will find a few sparkles here and there, but really, on the lips, those are no where to be found. I’m glad they aren’t, since I don’t like glittery lipstick. But if you do, that might be a reason to try another shade.

And as you can tell, Rose Sorbet is definitely one of the more pigmented shades from this range. It has a great amount of colour pay off, while still looking pretty natural, which makes it appropriate for any possible situation or occasion you might be in.

Over all I think the Yves Rocher Luminelle Lipstick in Rose Sorbet is pretty amazing. I didn’t really know what to expect since it looked pretty basic on the picture, but I’m positively surprised. I really like the colour and I’m quite impressed by the quality. I highly recommend this lipstick if you’re looking for something affordable yet pretty and good.

The Yves Rocher Luminelle Lipstick in Rose Sorbet is available at  the Yves Rocher stores and webshop for €8,50 (but they’re always on sale for about €4,95).

That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review, and let me know if you have tried a lipstick from this range yet!

  1. Leuk detail op de verpakking met die bloemetjes. Ik zelf zou in eerste instantie niet zo snel zo’n soort kleur kiezen, maar hij verrast me!
