For years I have been struggling with super weak and breakable nails. My nails are always broken and they have all kinds of ridges in them. Making my nail polish last was therefore quite a difficult task. After trying lots and lots of different nail polishes, I figured it might be a good plan to fix the nail itself, instead of covering it up and blaming the polishes if they don’t stay in place long enough. To fix it, I decided to give Seche Vite Rebuild a try. Today I’m going to tell you guys if it work and if it’s worth the money. If you’re interested in reading about that, keep on reading!
Seche Vite Rebuild comes in a pretty basic nail polish bottle with matte glass instead of normal glass. It feels quite thick and heavy and therefore quite luxe. The bottle contains a semi-clear white consistency that is supposed to strengthen your nails and make them durable.
Because I’m a typical teenager, I didn’t read the instructions before using this product, but while I was waiting for it to dry I decided to do so anyway. I ended up being quite shocked because of what it said. That because on the back it says that this product contains a chemical that causes cancer. I decided to search on google for some for information and found out that it’s nothing to worry about. They are apparently talking about some kind of chemical that is in lots of nail polishes and since it’s such a small amount, it’s not very harmful.
Before talking about my experiences with this product, let’s see what Seche Vite claims this product will do. According to the official Seche Vite site, this is what it does:
“Strengthens weak, thin nails. Rebuild™ helps weak, thin, soft, or peeling nails. This unique protein formulation seals the layers of the nail together. With each application, Rebuild™ reinforces and thickens nails providing durability while promoting strength and flexibility”.
I have to say that that sounds pretty promising. It sounds like the magical product that could fix all of my nail problems. But, even though it sounds so good, I was still kind of sceptical. Doesn’t it sounds a little bit too good to be true?
Well, it might sounds too good to be true, but it is true. This product does actually work wonders for me. To test this product I used only this on my nails for a couple of days, without any other nail polish on top. Just this. What it did is, it formed a sort of healing layer on top of my nails. A slightly shiny layer that glued all broken parts of my nails together. It created a nice and even base for your nail polish.
Besides that it also strengthened them. I feel like now I use this product regularly, my nails are a lot stronger than they used to be back in the day, when I didn’t have this product yet. I do still have some peeling and some ridges if I don’t wear this product, and my nails are still not the strongest on earth, but there is visible improvement, and that’s what matters the most to me.
So, over all, I’m pretty impressed by this product. You can use it as a treatment without using nail polish, but it’s also a great base coat for your nail polish. It creates a very nice even base for your nail polish and it does extend the staying power. I really like this product and I honestly never put on nail polish without it any more. I highly recommend it to those of you who, just like me, struggle with weak and thin nails. It’s absolutely amazing!
