Red is one of my favourite colours when it comes to nail polish. It can look so classy, elegant and chique, but it can also look happy, fresh and fun. I really like collecting different shades of red nail polish. I already have quite a few, but since every red is different, I can never get enough. Today I’m going to be reviewing a very pretty red polish by Rimmel called High Energy. If you’re interested in reading more about it, keep on reading!
The Rimmel Lasting Finish nail polishes come in the classic Rimmel nail polish packaging. It’s made out of clear glass and has a black lid. The special thing about this particular packaging is that, instead of having a plain black lid, it has a little sticker with a design on it. It’s not too special, but it does add something extra and a bit more colour. Over all I really like the packaging.
The colour High Energy is very exciting and colourful. It’s a very pretty bright red colour with a bit of a pinky undertone to it, but it’s not as pink as a strawberry red. It’s very interesting and unique and that’s why I like it so much.
The thing I like most about Rimmel nail polishes is that they are super easy to apply. I think that, out of all the nail polish brands I have tried so far, Rimmel is my favourite when it comes to brushes. They’re thick, but not too thick and have a nice and rounded tip which enables you to apply it neatly around the cuticle area.
Another thing I like about the Rimmel nail polishes is that they dry super quickly. It only takes about an hour until you can go to the toilet again without having to be super, super careful. Compared to some of the other polishes I have tried, that’s not too bad at all.
When it comes to coverage this polish is definitely a winner. It’s very opaque and doesn’t even show the white tips of my nails through the polish, which is something lots of polish struggle with. I did apply two coats because I like it to be really intense, but you could definitely stop after one coat if you don’t mind it being a tad bit sheer.
The staying power is however decent. It’s not amazing, but it does stay on for about 3 to 4 days, which is not bad at all. I have pretty weak nails and back in the day some polishes didn’t even stay on my nails for a day, so 3 to 4 days is definitely an improvement.
Over all I really like this polish. I like the colour, I love the brush and I really like how opaque it is. I think the staying power is not bad at all and I really like that the polish dries so quickly. Especially looking at the price, I think the Rimmel polishes are definitely worth your money. I really like them!
The Rimmel Lasting Finish Nail Polish in High Energy is available at the drugstore for €3,99.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you like the Rimmel nail polishes too!
