I don’t know what it is, but lately I have been in a kind of expensive eyeshadow palette mood. It all started with the Stila Christmas set, followed by the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani palette and today it’s time for the Urban Decay Naked On The Run palette. I have been wanting this palette for ages now, and last week I finally decided to just go for it. I was obviously extremely excited to start working with it and that’s exactly what I did when I received it. Today it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in reading more about the gorgeous Urban Decay Naked On The Run palette, you should definitely keep on reading!
The Urban Decay Naked On The Run palette comes in quite a big packaging. The packaging is absolutely stunning. It has gold lining and the front has a very pretty and unique pattern going on. It’s just absolutely gorgeous. The palette is kind of heavy in a luxurious way, but it doesn’t feel as luxurious and heavy as the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani palette.
The great thing about the Naked On The Run palette, and the main reason I wanted it, is because it doesn’t come with just eyeshadows. It’s actually the perfect travel palette. That because it comes with about 60 to 75% of the products you need to create your everyday makeup look.
Here is a little overview of what is in this palette. First of all we have a bronzer, blush and a highlighter. Then we have 5 brand new eyeshadows, followed by a full-size Naked lipgloss and a travel size 24/7 Glide On Pencil and Perversion mascara. The only thing you need to take with you aside from this palette is your foundation/concealer and your brow products. Aside from that, pretty much everything is in here.
But, even when you’re not someone who travels a lot, or doesn’t sleep somewhere else too often in general, this palette can still be something for you. I personally never really sleep somewhere else than home. It only happens about maybe 5 times a year, so it’s not like this is a musthave for me. The reason why I still really wanted it is because it gives you the opportunity to try out a lot of products by Urban Decay and that for a pretty reasonable price.
Okay let’s start off with discussing the Naked lipgloss. The Naked Lipgloss comes in a pretty fancy looking tube. In my opinion the fanciest lipgloss packaging ever. It’s gold and has the word “Naked” on it. The bottom part is clear and shows you the colour of the gloss, which is called Sesso. Sesso is a very pretty and perfect nude shade. It has a slight bit of shimmer in it, but it’s not too overwhelming and it’s appropriate for everyday wear. I really like it.
Onto the 24/7 Glide On Pencil. I have been wanting to try one of the Glide On Pencils for ages. I don’t know why but I’m just kind of obsessed with eye pencils and this one seemed to be the queen of the eye pencils. The one that is in here is in the shade Stag, which is a very pretty deep, deep brown shade with a tiny bit of shimmer to it.
Then we have the Perversion Mascara. I’m always a bit scared to test mascara’s because I really struggle with my mascara smudging everywhere and looking like a panda, and that’s not really the look I usually go for. Luckily this time there was nothing to worry about. The Perversion mascara stayed in place all day, even though I had watery eyes. Aside from that I’m really loving it because of the way it makes my lashes look: absolutely incredible!
Onto the eyeshadows. There are a total of 5 different shades of eyeshadows in here, and according to Urban Decay the little highlighter at the bottom is also an eyeshadow, but to be honest, you can perfectly use it as a highlighter as well. At least that is what I did this morning and it turned out pretty great.
So, let’s start off with discussing the colours one by one, from top to bottom:
Dive – Dive is one of my favourite eyeshadows in this palette. It’s a gorgeous shimmery copper shade. It’s not something I’d usually go for, but now that I have tried it I’m in love. I love using it as an all over lid shade, it’s gorgeous for that.
Fix – Fix is a nice matte medium brown shade, which could act as the perfect transition colour. I like using it for that and I really like the texture of it.
Resist – Resist is another shimmery shade. It’s a cool toned dark brown shade. I think it’s a great crease shade and I really enjoy using it for that.
Dare – Dare is another matte brown shade. It’s a little darker than Fix and therefore it’s perfect for both defining the crease area as well as using it as a transition colour. I like it a ton!
Stun – And lastly we have Stun. Stun is the warm toned version of Resist. It has gorgeous shimmers to it and it’s perfect for in the crease.
5050 – 5050 is the highlighting shade. I like using this as a face highlight, even though it’s actually an eyeshadow. Aside from using it as a face highlight, 5050 is also perfect for highlighting the brow bone and inner corner, but it can also act as the perfect all over lid colour.
Now onto the bronzer and blush. I don’t know why but these two don’t have names. Or at least, I can’t find them anywhere. Anyways, moving on. The bronzer in this palette has quite a warm undertone. I usually prefer more ashy bronzers because I’m really pale, but I have to say this one looks gorgeous on the skin. It looks way better than I expected it to look. It’s great for contouring your face, but it’s also perfect for just adding a bit of warmth to the skin.
Next to the bronzer is a blush. It’s a very pretty bright pink coloured blush. I think this colour blush will look great on everybody, and therefore I think it’s great that it’s in here. Aside from the fact that it looks good on everyone, I also really like it because of the colour itself. It brings back the colour into the skin and it makes you look really healthy and alive. I think it’s absolutely gorgeous.
One of the things I really like about the products in this palette, quality wise, is the texture of the powders. Especially the blush and the bronzer feel super, super, super smooth and silky. It’s literally like your touching silk. I have never really touched a powder so smooth and I really like that about it. It feels very luxurious and rich and I think that really represents how amazing Urban Decay is.
The eyeshadows, especially the matte ones, have that silky feeling to them as well. They’re not as silky and smooth as the bronzer and blush, but that doesn’t mean they’re not as amazing. I’m really loving that texture!
Pigmentation wise everything is this palette is beyond great. The eyeshadows are extremely pigmented, they’re definitely as amazing as all other Urban Decay eyeshadows. To be honest, I like them a bit better than the eyeshadows that come in the other Urban Decay palettes. The Glide On Pencil really impressed me as well. It truly does stay in place ALL DAY, and that’s pretty impressive for someone with watery eyes.
The blush and bronzer (and highlighter/eyeshadow) are super pigmented as well. They’re not over pigmented, but they definitely don’t require building them up in order to achieve a pretty and flushed effect. And lastly the lipgloss. Since it’s a lipgloss and not a (liquid) lipstick it’s not too crazily pigmented, but it does add a nice pop of colour to the lips. I like it!
Overall I think the Urban Decay Naked On The Run palette is absolutely amazing. The quality of every single product in here is just incredible and I really like the concept of it. It’s the perfect palette for when you’re on the go. If you want to invest in a great all-in-one palette I highly recommend this one!
The Urban Decay Naked On The Run is available at Ici Paris XL and Sephora.fr for €47,40/€49,-.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know what you think of this palette!
