Manhattan Soft Rouge Lipstick

Remember that huge beauty haul from like 10 ages ago? Well in that haul I showed you guys a lipstick that I bought by Manhattan; the Soft Rouge lipstick. I was very excited about it but even though I was, I just never really ended up writing a review on it. Today I wanted to change that because this lipstick definitely deserves some attention. The Manhattan Soft Rouge lipstick comes in a really simple packaging. For the biggest part it’s made out of silver plastic, the only thing that’s not silver is the lid, which is just clear. Even though the packaging is so simple and I would have liked at least a tiny little bit more detailing, it’s not bad. It’s pretty elegant and chic and it’s not cheap looking at all.

The lipstick comes in many different shades. The one I bought is called Bubble Gum. Bubble Gum sounds bright, fun and colourful, but it’s actually a very natural, everyday lip colour, and that’s pretty much why I like it so much. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

Bubble Gum does have a tiny bit of shimmer to it, but not in a super obvious and cheap looking way. To be honest, you can’t actually tell that there is any shimmer to it when it’s on your lips. Because I’m not a huge fan of shimmery lipsticks at all, that’s a big plus, but if you do like some shimmer on your lips, you might want to look for something else.

Something I like about this lipstick, aside from the amazing colour, is the scent. It kinda smells like the Rimmel London Kate Moss lipsticks. I really like that scent. It’s not too strong and you won’t be able to really smell if once it’s applied, but it is a nice little extra.

Pigmentation wise this lipstick is perfect. It isn’t the most pigmented lipstick in the world, but that’s why I like it so much. It has enough colour pay off in order to really show up on your lips and visibly add colour, but it’s not overwhelming. This is really the perfect lipstick to wear in combination with super heavy eye looks, but it’s also perfect for those days when you just want to look natural, but you do want to wear some makeup.

Texture wise this lipstick is one of my favourites. It’s very smooth and creamy, but it’s not slippery. It feels pretty moisturising on the lips and it’s really comfortable to wear. To make it even better, the staying power didn’t let me down either. Normally lipsticks like this one aren’t too long lasting, but this one stayed in place for quite a while. It obviously depends on what you’re doing with your lips, but generally speaking this lipstick lasts about 3 hours on me, that’s not bad at all!

Overall I’m really impressed by this Manhattan Soft Rouge Lipstick. I am in love with the colour, it’s seriously one I could wear all day, every day and I think it goes perfectly with so many different looks and I think this lipstick will look good on so many different people. Aside from that I’m also really impressed with how nice the texture is and how well it stays in place. I definitely  recommend getting this lipstick if you get the chance, it’s worth it!
