Lately I have been kind of obsessed with more luxury brands. I don’t know what it is, but I just feel like trying out lots of them. While doing some last minute Christmas shopping a while ago, I came across the new Benefit counter at Douglas. I couldn’t resist taking a little look there. Long story short, I ended up buying the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in the shade R.S.V.P, which I’m going to be reviewing today. If you’re interested, keep on reading!
The Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows come in a really cute cardboard box with a really pretty design on it. I really like the look of it. It looks absolutely adorable and it makes the packaging just a bit extra special and exciting. When you open up the box the real product will reveal itself.
The cream shadow itself comes in quite a heavy glass jar. The lid is made out of an off-white coloured plastic material and has this cute detailing along the sides. The jar itself is clear and made out of glass, and again, has this really cute detailing going on along the sides.
Overall I really like the packaging of this product. To be honest I feel like the Benefit packagings in general are just absolutely amazing and I think their packagings are just one of the best. Everything looks so super adorable and cute and it really looks like they have put some effort into it, which is something I personally really like.
The colour I got, R.S.V.P is one of their most popular colours. It’s a very wearable and neutral champagne-like colour with gorgeous shimmer to it. I really love the colour. To me this is the perfect cream shadow colour. It goes perfectly with pretty much every look I create and I like that about it.
Something I like about it as well is that it’s not too out there. It doesn’t interfere with the colours you put on top too much, but it does make a difference. It’s not like your putting and €19 cream on your lids for no reason at all, that’s not what I’m trying to say here. In fact it does actually do a great job at intensifying the shadows you put on top and it adds a nice bit of shine to that, but what I was trying to say is that it doesn’t change the colour you put on top. It’s not overpowering.
The texture of this cream shadow is really nice. It’s extremely creamy and smooth. It’s a lot creamier than the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots, which are, in my opinion, already pretty creamy. Because they are so creamy it’s a very easy product to work with. I did expect it to move a lot while you’re applying it, but I have to say that I hardly ever struggle with that when it comes to this product.
Even though I really like the texture and especially the creaminess, I did expect it to be a negative feature. That because in general, super creamy shadows like this one will crease. They will crease like crazy. Even though this is called the “Creaseless Cream Shadow” I did expect it to be like that too, but I have to say, Benefit didn’t disappoint me at all.
I definitely think that this cream shadow is one you have to give some time to set, but once you’ve done that, you’re good to go. This cream shadow hasn’t creased on my at all and for someone with oily eyelids, that’s quite special. It actually does an amazing job at keeping my eyeshadows in place and I like that about it a lot.
Pigmentation wise this cream shadow isn’t a disappointment either. It’s not the most pigmented thing I have ever seen in my life, but it does have the right amount of pigmentation in my opinion. Again, it’s not too overpowering, but it is definitely there. I like it a lot!
Overall I think this Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow is absolutely amazing and I’m really glad I bought it. I am in love with this colour, I really, really love it and the quality is just incredible. The texture is really nice and creamy so it’s a very easy product to work with and I don’t expect it to dry out anytime soon and best of all it does a great job at keeping your eyeshadows in place. I highly recommend giving this product a try!
The Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in R.S.V.P is available at Douglas for €19,- and at Feelunique for €20,93.
