Hello there and welcome to Nicolish!

I’m Nicole, a 18 year old girl from the Netherlands with a huge passion for beauty.  I started to experiment with makeup when I was about twelve years old. It was my first year of high school and I was convinced everyone was wearing makeup there, so I had to wear it myself too. I experimented with mascara and (way too dark) foundation. Later on I also started to use eyeshadow and blush. This went on and on for years. Now I have a whole collection of lots of different makeup products and I wear a full face of makeup almost every day. I enjoy putting it on every single morning, and I enjoy taking it off every evening with my favorite skincare products.

The blog.

On the 17th of July 2014 I posted my very first article on Nicolish. I decided to start a blog because it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do. I have always enjoyed reading beauty blogs, so on the 17th of July I decided it was time to start my own. It was quite difficult to come up with a good name. All names I could think of where already used. After thinking for quite a long time I came up with Nicolish. It’s a combination of my name “Nicole” and “Nail polish”. I thought that was pretty appropriate for a beautyblog!

I decided to blog in English, even though that’s not my native language because this way almost everyone can understand it. Also because I feel like sometimes it’s easier for me to express my thoughts in English. I’m happy I did so, because if I look at my statistics I see a lot of different nationalities. I like how people from all around the world visit my site. It makes me happy.

I use the Canon 350D with the 50mm f/1.8 II lens (or the EFS 18-55mm lens + a macro lens) to take pictures with. I edit them in Photo Filtre Studio.
