Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Lens

Today I have something different for you guys. It not beauty or fashion related at all. Today I want to show you guys and talk about my new lens I got a few weeks ago. It’s the Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens. If you’re interested in reading more about this little beauty, keep on reading!

The first time I went to a store to look at camera’s the camera lady introduced me to this lens. She took a test picture for me and I just fell in love. I knew that this lens was what I needed. So, long story short, I bought the thing.

The reason I wanted this lens is because it creates a really pretty effect. When you take a picture with it it will completely fade out the background and the object will be very sharp, so it really stands out. With this lens you can also create the really pretty bokeh effect. I am still learning how to use it, so I’m not a pro yet, but to show you the difference between this lens and my other one I took some example pictures.

I think these pictures clearly show the difference. As you can tell the first one (taken with my new lens) has a lot less going on than the other one, which makes looking at it a lot better. Besides that I feel like the quality is a lot better too.

Here are two more pictures to compare the two lenses with. I really love how the little lamps look. Instead of actually seeing the string and the actual lamps, you only see a little tiny bit of string and little light bubbles. I love that so, so much!

The only downside is that you can’t zoom with this lens and you have to hold the camera at least 50 cm away from the object you’re photographing. This means that it isn’t able to take close ups, which really is a downside to me.

But besides that I’m very glad I bought this lens. I love how the pictures I took with it turned out, and I’ll definitely keep trying to improve my pictures.
