Best Of Beauty 2015

2015 faves

Today it’s December 31 aka the last day of the year, which means it’s time to go over all of the products I used throughout the entire year and select which ones were the absolute best. It’s always a struggle to choose which products were just the absolute best, but I managed to do so anyway and narrow it down to only the very best products. If you’re interested in finding out which products made it, keep on reading!

Foundation faves

Let’s start off with face products!

Catrice Even Skin Tone Beautifying Foundation – My first favourite is this foundation by Catrice. I bought it because it was the first budget foundation ever in a shade that is light enough for me, but I expected nothing. I usually don’t like the Catrice foundations at all, but this one really was a gamechanger for me. It smells really nice and it has great coverage, a gorgeous finish and it stays in place really nicely throughout the day.

E.L.F. Flawless Finish Foundation – The only foundation I do love a little bit better than the Catrice one is the E.L.F. Flawless Finish Foundation. It’s just the best foundation I have ever tried, I’m not exaggerating. It has the prettiest finish ever and it makes my skin look absolutely amazing. I love this stuff!

Nivea Men Aftershave Balm – Another product that really changed my life is the Nivea Men Aftershave Balm. I use this as a primer and it works like a charm. I have honestly never had a primer that works better than this. This product really locks in your makeup until you decide to take it off. It’s incredible!

Face faves

Vichy Dermablend Loose Finishing Powder – A while ago I was in need of a new loose face powder and because this one came in a big tub and my skin just eats powder, I decided to give this one a try. And to be honest, it’s amazing. It really is amazing. It mattifies the skin really nicely and it has a very pretty finish.

MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Soft & Gentle – Soft & Gentle has been on my wishlist for forever. A few months ago I finally decided to buy it, and I never regretted that decision. It’s one of the best highlighters I have ever tried and I think it’s a musthave in every makeup collection!

Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush in Gorgeous Berries – Blush wise this Maxfactor blush has definitely been one of my main favourites this year. I really love the colour of it and the texture is really amazing. I think the Maxfactor Creme Puff blushes are one of the best blushes you can find at the drugstore!

Randoms

Origins GinZing Moisturiser – This summer I finally decided to try out a new moisturiser. That new moisturiser was the Origins GinZing moisturiser. It looked pretty good to me and I was curious to see what it would do for my skin. Turned out this is the moisturiser I was always looking for. It smells absolutely amazing, it moisturises my skin but doesn’t make it oily and it really does have a bit of an energy-boosting thing to it.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – Well this is not a very surprising product, I think the entire world knows how amazing this concealer is by now, but I still felt like I needed to mention it. The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is just absolutely incredible and I have been using it for about two years now, and I’m still loving the crap out of it. It’s just the best concealer in the world. The coverage is amazing and I really like how light it is.

Maxfactor Wild Mega Volume Mascara – I bought this mascara mainly because it was on sale and because I needed a new one, but in the end it turned out to be one of the best mascara’s I have ever tried. It makes my lashes look voluminous and long and it doesn’t smudge at all. It’s great!

Eyeshadow faves

Onto my favourite part, the eyeshadows!

L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow – My first eyeshadow favourite is the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in the shade Hourglass Beige. It’s a dupe for Stila’s Kitten which is one of my all time favourite eyeshadows and it’s really, really pigmented. I think this is one of the best eyeshadows out there!

Maybelline Color Tattoo – I have loved the Maybelline Color Tattoo’s for years, and I still really do. My favourite ones are On And On Bronze and Crème De Rose. I think the Maybelline Color Tattoo’s are the best cream eyeshadows in the world and they are definitely worth the try!

MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection – Another cream eyeshadow I have been loving a ton is the MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection. I really like the colour of it and I like that it’s so creamy and therefore easy to blend, but it does stay in place really well. I do prefer the Maybelline Color Tattoo’s, but this one is still amazing.

Urban Decay Buck – My last mono eyeshadow favourite is Urban Decay’s Buck. Buck has been my favourite medium brown eyeshadow ever since I got my first Urban Decay palette, which was about 3 to 4 years ago now. I just think it’s the perfect transition colour and the quality is just amazing.

Stila eyes are the window

Stila Eyes Are The Window Palettes in Soul and Spirit – Two of my favourite eyeshadow palettes from 2015 are the Stila Eyes Are The Window palettes. I’m so in love with the two of them. I have been using them a ton ever since I bought them, and I’m definitely going to continue doing that throughout 2016. I think the eyeshadows that come in these two palettes are just incredibly gorgeous and insanely pigmented. I love them!

UD Gwen Stefani

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette This palette hasn’t been in my collection for too long, but because it’s so super amazing I still decided to include it in this post. It’s the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette. I think this is one of Urban Decay’s best eyeshadow palettes and I’m pretty much obsessed with it. The colours in it are absolutely gorgeous and the quality is beyond amazing.

Lip faves

And lastly, the lipstick favourites! It was really hard to narrow down the lipstick favourites because in 2015 I became kind of  obsessed with lipstick, but I managed to narrow it down to these four lipsticks.

Bourjois Shine Edition Lipstick – My first favourite lipstick is the Bourjois Shine Edition Lipstick in Rose xoxo. I really love sheer lipsticks and this is the best sheer lipstick I have tried. I adore the colour of it and it’s so comfortable on the lips. I have used it sooooo much throughout the year, it’s amazing!

P2 Full Shine Lipstick in Tell Me A Tale – Another lipstick I have been wearing a ton is the P2 Full Shine Lipstick in the shade Tell Me A Tale. This is one of the prettiest nude lipsticks I have ever seen and it’s super comfortable to wear.

L’Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Coral Calling – For years I have been loving the L’Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks, but this particular one in the shade Coral Calling is by far my favourite out of the ones I have tried. It’s the worlds prettiest coral colour and again it’s so comfortable to wear. I highly recommend this one!

MAC Lipstick in Peach Blossom – My last (lipstick) favourite is one by MAC in the shade Peach Blossom. In 2015 I bought a total of 5 MAC lipsticks, which is pretty insane by the way, but this one in Peach Blossom is by far my favourite. This is my signature lipstick. It’s the lipstick I go for when I just don’t know which one to wear, it’s the one I wear if I have something important going on that day, it’s the one I wear when I feel a little off, it’s just perfect and I love it!

And that concludes today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and let me know which beauty products you think are the best!

  1. Hey Nicole, the Maybelline Color Tattoo has been and always will be my holy grail eyeshadow as it is the easiest product to work with in terms of eyeshadow, no worries about fallouts and absolutely no worries about how pigmented they come off on your lids. Its amazeballs! I love it! I fear my bad to the bronze and tough as taupe will be the first empties among the rest of my color tattoos since they are the most wearable shades. You should try out tough as taupe+bad to the bronze combo as a transition shade! Love your posts and I enjoyed reading it to the last word! Greetings from Malaysia!

  2. Never would have thought of using aftershave as a primer, but maybe I’ll check it out whenever I run out of my current product. Really great post!
